CONTENT PROPOSAL
Our group, Olaf Buddies, chose to do a campaign on providing support for people who have been bullied or are at this point being bullied. We saw that there are quite a few blogs about stopping bullying and what bullying is but very few that actually provide the bullied with support they may be afraid to seek.OBJECTIVE
Our objective was to be able to play a support role for
teenagers that are dealing with bullying or have been bullied before because in
a lot of cases teenagers choose to suffer in silence rather than tell someone
as they think that if they speak up it will just lead to more humiliation.
Being teenagers ourselves we know how much damage bullying can do and how
difficult it is to admit to being bullied.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Our target audience are Singaporeans between the ages of 15
and 20 who have faced the trauma of being bullied or are being face with it
now. Being teenagers living in Singapore we know about a lot of the thing that
people deal with on normal days and what types of bullying are common. Also we
have all viewed and some of us even experienced bullying on a very personal level.
TOOLS WE WOULD LIKE TO USE IN OUR CAMPAIGN
Our group wanted to use not only pictures, quotes and blog
posts but also things like interviews with teenagers that have been bullied,
are being bullied and even people that have bullied in the past as we decided
that it would provide a more intimate feeling for the campaign. Also we would
like to use short anti-bullying clips that we shot in order to again create a
more intimate appeal and also provide a more visual campaign as we decided that
visuals are very powerful.
INFORMATION/IDEAS WE WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE IN OUR CAMPAIGN
We as a group would like to spread awareness about the different
types of bullying as we decided it was important for people to know that there
are different types of bullying and what they are. We would like to also
include that self- harm; self-hatred and suicide do not help and are more harm than
good. The last thing we would like to do is to tell our audience that no matter
what they think they are not alone that there are other people suffering and
that there is always someone who cares.
“There is nothing funny about threatening to
harm someone or his or her family. I believe in freedom of speech, but I do not
believe in violence towards other human beings. I believe people have their
moments of frustrations, anger and feelings of inadequacy. However, when a
person’s insecurities and failures in life push them to make threats--- people
of common sense take action, in order to protect their family. ”

“I just sit there where she
tells me to and don’t make a fuss. If I answer back she gets loud and shouty. I
don’t want everyone seeing how badly she pushes me around.
It’s best just to take it.
God knows what people must think of me - some nervous, quiet drip with no opinion probably. It wouldn’t be far off the truth I should have stood up to Sally years ago, but she’d make my life I did...”
